SHARE PICKUP
We use rubbermaid containers to pack your produce for market days.  Please bring your own bags or container to take your produce home.

What is in a share?

We include each week produce that is in season from our farm.

Produce availability is subject to seasonal and weather changes, pests and disease. No particular crop is promised, nor should it be expected.  But, we always do our best to protect both your and our investments.  With farming there are always some disappointments and failures, as well as unexpected success.  You can expect your CSA share to reflect this.

Is Sitka Springs Farm organic?  At Sitka Springs Farm, our vegetables are grown in an environmentally sustainable manner: crops are grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides.  We use aged animal manure compost and organic fertilizers.  Green manures and legume cover crops are planted to fix nitrogen, build soil organic matter, and prevent erosion. Seeds are organic when available, with inclusion of heirloom and open-pollinated varieties. Our farm purchases seed only from companies who have signed the Safe Seed Pledge and do not offer GMO seeds for sale.  We control pests through the use of crop rotations, hand removal and practices such as the use of row covers.  Some bugs we'll just tolerate.

Our practices are guided by the National Organic Standards and by our own goals for achieving a sustainable system.   At this time, we are not certified Organic because we do not want to increase the cost of our produce for our customers.  We strive to keep our food pure and affordable.

What Happens if I Go on Vacation?
Whenever you are unable to pick up your box we encourage you to either have a friend or neighbor arrange for pick up, or you can pick up on the alternate day.  We allow for a weekend off where we will give you a credit to be used at our booth at another time.   You can also switch pickup days for the week that you will be gone to one of our other locations.

Can I Split A Share With Another Family?
Our shares will typically feed 2 adults or a small family (depending on individual eating habits).  Many individual members choose to find a friend or family member to share their produce with, either splitting the produce at the site each week, or alternating weekly pick ups. Feel free to work out arrangements to suit your needs.
